There is a law that tends to pull us back to where we come from or where we started . Every object with the body mass obeys or responds to the law. It is the law of gravity. And this law (force) is not limited to the geographical movement of objects but acts also on all areas of our lives.
Dear friend, have you ever tried to do a task you don’t have the skill or you are yet to develop the capacity for? If yes, I guess the first reaction you got was a pull back to where you started. If you want to push a load up a height and you apply a force less than the object’s weight/gravitatioinal pull, the load would pull downward and not get to the top of the height. To overcome the gravitational pull of life, we need to gather enough momentum. To get to the top, we need to overcome the law of gravity and breaks into the law of aerodynamics.
Dear friend, look at the eagles. Look at the airplanes. For any of them to fly in the air, it must obey the law of aerodynamics. The laws of aerodynamics are the laws of life whilethe laws of gravity are the laws of death! The laws of aerodynamics has always been in existence right from the creation of man. Any law, be it the law of aerodynamics, Moses’ laws or Newton’s laws were placed there by God to teach us the truth about our selves, our existence and the reality of life. The Holy Bible says in Colossians 1:16-17;for by Him were all things created, that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers;all things were created by Him, for Him. He is before all things and by Him all things consist.
Through the Word of God and Science, we understand how the laws of aerodynamics(law of the spirit of life) and the law of gravity (law of sin and death) operate. When an aircraft is about to take off from the airport, it taxies and builds up momentum that lifts it off the ground and begins to soar in air. While the plane is buliding momentum, the law of gravity is present trying to keep the plane on the ground but another law is being applied that lifts the aircraft upward defying the law of gravity . such an overcoming force is the law of aerodynamics. This same application is spoken of by Paul in Romans 7:22-23; says for I delight in the law of God after the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin and death which is in my members. The law of sin and death was not always present. God created man in His image and likeness, and gave him dominion over the works of His hands. Man functioned and lived from the tree of life in perfect harmony until the fall of Adam. As a result of the fall, the law of greavity(law of sin and death) was introduced. In ourselves, we cannot overcome the law of sin and death. It takes a higher law to free us from the bondage of sin and death. In Romans 7:25, Paul says the law of sin and death have been overcome in Christ Jesus. And that the law of the spirit has made us free from the law of sin and death – Romans 8:2.
It is only in JESUS CHRIST that the law of sin and death is broken. In myself I could not defy the gravity, to do so I had to get on board the divine airplane(Christ). Now the law of the spirit has aslways existed. We have not always utilized it since the fall. Though we have the law of gravity (sin and death) all around us, the law of aerodynamics(law of life)is very much present also.
If we look closely at the size and weight of an aircraft,it looks impossible to overcome the law of gravity. But with it powerful engines with the law of aerodynamics, the plane is able to lift itself off the ground, defying gravity and travel at a speed of about 600miles per hour in the air. This does not mean that the law of gravity is not present, the force of gravity is still pulling on the plane but as long as the laws of aerodynamics are applied, gravity has lost its hold and the plane can break free from the bond of earth as it lifts itself about 35,000 feet above the earth’s atmosphere.
We are a type of the aircraft, created and chosen in Christ from the foundation of the world. We entered a realm in which we thought was our real world and saw ourselves being seperated from God. Because of our pattern of thinking, the law of gravity or sin and death worked against us, pulling us down and keeping us in the confines of the earth realm. When we have come to the understanding that our life is hid with Christ in God – Colossians 3:3, and we are one with the Father, gravity loses it hold and we are propelled into the heavens, breaking the law of gravity as the law of aerodynamics is applied. Once the law of aerodynamics(law of life) is functioning in us, gravity has no power over us.
It takes Jesus Christ to free us from mental prisons that our humanistic thinking has put us into over the years. Jesus defied the law of gravity by walking on the water but most importantly, He overcame the law of sin and death by raising Himself up from the death. We have been set free from the law of sin and death and are seated in heavenly places in Christ. Once in a while we forget who we are as gravity set in, pulling us down to the earth and as the truth of God’s Word sets us free, we feel saved and liberated, and are truly saved and liberated. Perhaps, the outward man perishes, the inward man is being renewed day by day because his life is connected to God, the source of all life. The law of gravity might be present and tends to act but cannot overcome the new man whose life is hid in Christ Jesus.
The law of gravity( law of sin and death) caused man’s garden to become a wilderness after the fall of Adam. Today , God the father in His infinite mercy has made all things new again as the garden of man begins to flourish with new life as Jesus Christ, the son of God has paid the price in full to restore man to his original place and perfect union with God the father.
The law of gravity isnot an issue for us any more when connected to Jesus. We need to break into the law of aerodynamics( law of life) where our speed and height is not dependent on our nature, size and human senses but on faith in Christ Jesus. It is only as we live in the spirit can the law of aerodynamics be applied. Paul said, if welive in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit. The law of life is the standard by which we live and move and be.
As you begin to walk in your true identity in Christ, keep renewing your mind in the Word and the law of gravity(sin and death) will begin to lose its hold and the laws of life in Christ jesus caries you to the heavens, height or level you have not yet known.
